JEDDAH — Saudia (SV) ranked as the world’s most on-time airline in June, recording a 92.38% on-time arrival rate across 13,350 flights tracked by aviation analytics firm Cirium.
The Saudi flag carrier led a global top 10 that included Korean Air (KE), Aeromexico (AM), Air India (AI), Singapore Airlines (SQ), WestJet (WS), Emirates (EK), Turkish Airlines (TK), SAS (SK), and Qatar Airways (QR).
Saudia also posted a 93.02% on-time departure rate and a 99.68% completion factor, meaning nearly all of its scheduled flights operated during the month.
Regional leaders diverge
Cirium’s June data shows markedly different operational performance across regions.
In North America, WestJet (WS) led the ranking with an 86.40% on-time arrival rate across 16,779 flights. Delta Air Lines (DL) followed at 82.65%, ahead of Alaska Airlines (AS) at 80.59%, JetBlue (B6) at 77.22%, and United Airlines (UA) at 76.21%.
American Airlines (AA), which operated the largest number of flights in the North American ranking at 202,445, placed sixth with a 74.98% on-time arrival rate. Southwest Airlines (WN) ranked 10th at 64.01%.
North America’s overall on-time arrival rate stood at 75.54% across 800,880 flights, the lowest aggregate result among the report’s five regional groupings.
Flyadeal posts the highest regional result
Flyadeal (F3) delivered the strongest regional performance in the report, leading the Middle East and Africa ranking with a 95.42% on-time arrival rate.
The Saudia Group low-cost carrier completed 5,150 flights during June and posted a 96.63% on-time departure rate. FlySafair (FA) followed at 93.23%, while Saudia ranked third in the combined Middle East and Africa category with the same 92.38% global result.
The region as a whole recorded an 89.68% on-time arrival rate across 62,478 flights, the highest regional average in Cirium’s June report.
Sky airline leads Latin America
Sky Airline (H2) took first place in Latin America with a 92.53% on-time arrival rate, ahead of Copa Airlines (CM) at 90.59% and Avianca (AV) at 87.37%.
Copa’s result remains particularly notable given its hub-and-spoke operation at Panama City Tocumen International Airport (PTY), where closely coordinated connection banks can amplify the effect of even small disruptions. The airline recorded a 93.44% on-time departure rate across 12,578 flights.
LATAM Airlines (LA) operated the largest number of flights among the ranked Latin American carriers, with 48,310, but placed 10th with an 82.24% on-time arrival rate.
Turkish Airlines leads Europe
Turkish Airlines (TK) ranked first in Europe, recording an 84.26% on-time arrival rate across 35,249 flights.
SAS followed at 83.39%, with Pegasus Airlines (PC), Vueling (VY), and Austrian Airlines (OS) completing the region’s top five.
Europe’s overall on-time arrival rate was 80.59% across 210,180 flights. The figures reflect the particular operational complexity of the European summer season, where dense schedules, air traffic control constraints, weather disruptions, and airport congestion can quickly affect airline punctuality.
Jeju Air tops Asia-Pacific
Jeju Air (7C) led the Asia-Pacific ranking with a 90.51% on-time arrival rate. Korean Air ranked second at 88.56%, followed by Scoot (TR), Air India, and Singapore Airlines.
Asia-Pacific airlines collectively posted an 86.40% on-time arrival rate across 161,417 flights during June.
The rankings illustrate how operational reliability remains highly dependent on network design, airport infrastructure, fleet utilization, weather, and the scale of disruption an airline must absorb. But the June results also show that high punctuality is achievable across very different models — from Saudia’s global network to flyadeal’s low-cost operation, Sky Airline’s South American network, and Jeju Air’s short-haul domestic and regional model.
