Ethiopian Airlines has integrated its New Distribution Capability (NDC) content into the AirGateway platform, giving travel agencies, travel management companies (TMCs) and consolidators direct access to the airline’s offers through BookingPad, the AirGateway API and partner booking tools.

The integration allows travel sellers to search, book and service Ethiopian Airlines’ offers within their existing workflows. It also expands the airline’s reach across the global travel trade while providing access to ancillary services and multiple payment options.

AirGateway supports Ethiopian Airlines NDC bookings

Operating from its hub in Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Airlines connects Africa with more than 145 destinations across five continents. The integration enables agencies selling the airline’s network to access its direct content alongside other NDC offers.

Travel sellers can manage the booking process through the AirGateway platform, from initial search and pricing to ticketing and after-sales services, without moving to a separate portal.

Travel agencies can manage the full booking lifecycle

The integration supports live Ethiopian Airlines NDC offers through AirShopping, with prices confirmed through OfferPrice before booking. Travel sellers can place bookings on hold or issue tickets immediately, with payment available by cash or credit card.

After booking, agencies can manage seat selection, ancillary services, voids, refunds and rebookings directly through the platform. This consolidates key booking and servicing tasks within the same workflow.

Ethiopian Airlines targets improved digital distribution

Meaza Taye, Distribution and Global Corporate Sales Director at Ethiopian Airlines Group: “Enhancing our digital capabilities across our services is one of our key strategic priorities. Integrating AirGateway with our NDC system is an important part of this ongoing effort. With its extensive knowledge and expertise in the field, as well as its broad connectivity with travel agencies and booking platforms worldwide, AirGateway will enable us to reach and serve our customers more seamlessly and conveniently.”

The integration forms part of the airline’s efforts to strengthen its digital distribution capabilities and connect with travel sellers through established booking platforms.

AirGateway expands its NDC airline offering

Jorge Díaz, CEO of AirGateway: “We are pleased to introduce one of Africa’s most significant connecting airlines. This partnership substantially enhances our role as an aggregator within EMEA, which remains our primary operational region. With its NDC content on AirGateway, all our partners can now sell and service Ethiopian’s own offers within the workflows they already use, and improve their margins doing it.”

The partnership adds Ethiopian Airlines’ offers to AirGateway’s distribution capabilities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), enabling its partners to sell and service the airline’s content through their existing systems.
