    Executives from Atlas Air, Compass Air Cargo, DHL Aviation, Teleport and Turkish Airlines will join Cargo Facts EMEA for the panel discussion “Charting a path forward for the freighter market in EMEA” on Wednesday, April 29, at 09:15 (GMT+2).

    The eighth annual Cargo Facts EMEA event takes place April 28-30 at the Marriott Hotel Grand Place in Brussels, where key market influencers will assemble to share their outlook on the latest developments and market trends in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

    The speakers are:

    • Richard Gale, vice president of aviation for DHL Aviation in the Middle East and North Africa;
    • Rainer Mueller, chief commercial officer for Compass Air Cargo;
    • Graham Perkins, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Atlas Air;
    • Jan Philipp Poter, chief business officer for Teleport; and
    • Halit Tuncer, vice president of cargo sales in the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia for Turkish Airlines.

    Gale joined DHL in 1998. He oversees the management of the group’s aviation activity in Africa and the Middle East. DHL’s Bahrain-based airline, DHL International, operates ten 767-300 freighters.

    Mueller became chief commercial officer for Compass Air Cargo in January 2022. He has more than thirty-five years of management experience in the aviation, air cargo and logistics services and tourism industries.

    Compass expanded its ACMI agreement with Emirates in 2025 and began operating a third 747 freighter for the UAE-based carrier.  Additionally, Compass is considering operating 777Fs on a CMI basis or acquiring its own aircraft to increase widebody lift.

    Perkins joined Atlas Air in September 2002 after serving in the passenger airline sector for more than twelve years.

    Atlas is the largest 747 freighter operator but will introduce A350Fs to its all-Boeing widebody fleet after announcing an order with Airbus for twenty units with an option for twenty more.

    Poter, with more than eighteen years of experience across multiple industries, including Alibaba Group and Daraz Group, oversees Teleport’s global expansion strategy as chief commercial officer.

    As part of its expansion strategy, Teleport will allocate $50 million of the money it raised in pre-IPO capital to secure more capacity and grow its network in the Middle East, Asia and Europe. The company operates three A321P2Fs in Asia.

    Tuncer became VP of cargo sales in the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia for Turkish Airlines in August 2024. He has worked at Turkish Airlines for more than fourteen years.

    Turkish completed its 777F order with Boeing in January and now operates twelve units, along with ten A330-200Fs. It placed an order with Airbus for five A350Fs in December 2023.

    The panel will discuss:

    • Local implications of the influx of maindeck capacity redeployed from elsewhere;
    • Strategies for overcoming uncertainty and geopolitical risk; and
    • Freighter-type demand amid changing regional trade flows.

    Cargo Facts EMEA 2026 will take place April 28-30 in Brussels at the Marriott Hotel Grand Place. For more information and to register, visit CargoFactsEvents.com.
